Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura was the capital known in the history 377 BC to 1017 CE. King Pandukabhaya was the hero who has designed the entire kingdom now we can see. It is where the place to sacred eight creations abode, and many cultural crosses were taking place. 237 BC Arahant Mahinda Thero introduced the Buddhism to Sri Lanka, and Mihintale was the sacred place he was lived. Epigraphic, ruins of buildings, water works (tanks and canals), towns and temples are among the items added to the kingdom at that time. So, you may see at least nine sacred yards where the culture of Buddhism laid.
