Udawalawa National Park

Udawalawa National Park was created to provide a sanctuary to the animals who lost their home after the construction of Udawalawa reservoir. Reserved acreage is about 30800 hectares. Earlier the land was used to shifting cultivation which called Sinhala is chena cultivation. Then habitants were gradually removed and land designated to a sanctuary. It is now a jeep safari monitoring hub. A wide range of wildlife diversity can see at your safari tour. A large herd of elephants, small groups of deer, and peacocks are commonly available to see, while other species are available to see with binoculars.
