Day Tour of Kandy and Pinnawala
Kandy is the last capital of the ancient kings of Sri Lanka. The Temple of Tooth Relic is located mid of the Kandy municipality and some other historic buildings are also there, so it was declared world heritage city in 1988. Remained tooth of Lord Buddha is deposited the palace here and the first most venerable temple of world’s Buddhists is that. You can visit the Kandy museum after seeing Tooth Relic. World famous dancing and item producing culture is preserved there so travelers like to explore and collect souvenirs. Temperature is low this part of the county and cool.
Pinnawala is a small village where one of two elephant orphanages located. It is 15km north east to Kegalle town of Sabaragamuwa Province. The orphanage was founded to care un-weaned wild elephants nearby hosting area. Feeding baby elephants, and nursing and housing young elephants and captive breeding is becoming an attraction of foreign and local tourists since it’s foundation in 1975. It is now the largest herd of captive elephants in the world. Watching feeding and bathing are seaworthy.
